Hidden Hollow Cottage, A Cape Cod Vacation Home

Cape Cod Fall Fishing

The Outer Beaches are empty of anglers…but full of fish.   The striper run is quiet for a fourth consecutive year (except for the canal), but there are bluefish in the 10-15 pound class right on shore.  The bait that is washed up on shore is diverse: sandeels, silversides, peanut bunker, squid, butterfish, tinker mackeral, you name it.  There are Horsehead and Harbor seals waiting in the deeper water on the outside edges of the sandbars, waiting for hooked fish to come their way.  Oddly enough, there are not many birds working.  We did see an ocean sunfish feeding on jellyfish.  At 63 degrees and sunny, you can’t beat it.

Columbus Day Guests

The Keer’s  just bid farewell to some very nice guests vacationing at Hidden Hollow Cottage for Columbus Day weekend.  The weather was sunny, warm by day and chilly by night.  They shared stories of their Fall Getaway Adventure including sailing in Wellfleet harbor, feasting on lobster at Moby Dick’s, biking amidst the beautiful fall foliage on the bike paths, shopping in Provincetown and spending great family time together.  Don’t let Cape Cod fool you, there’s plenty to do after summer too!
